Who Stole the
Electric Car? is set
in 1995, before Al Gore & Leo DiCaprio showed us it was hip to
conserve energy and save the environment. The idea for this fresh
narrative comedy was inspired by Chris Paine’s multiple award
winning documentary Who Killed the Electric Car? and begins when
self-centered, egotistical GUY (Carl Fieler) takes his girl friend
CHELSEA (Megan Brotherton) for granted. After Chelsea announces she
is leaving Guy to fly off for an extended African mission trip, GUY
realizes he must take matters in to his own hands to win her back.
Guy appeals to Chelsea’s environmentally sensitive side and comes up
with the crazy idea to fly across the country to have his picture
taken with the world’s 1st Electric Car. After Guy lands in Detroit
& sees the ZEV-1 car for himself, in the heat of the moment he ends
up stealing the car and taking the salesman RAY (John Brody)
hostage. The duo later team up with vegetarian sidekick VANCE (Chris
Shields) and race across the country to catch Chelsea before it’s
too late. This wild road trip takes them from Motor City to Southern
California time while time is ticking away and they are pursued by
the police & other strange folks along the way. Find out if they can
keep up the juice without using a single drop of gasoline. You’ll be
sitting on the edge or your seat, rooting for our heroes while have
the adventure of your life at 99 miles per gallon!
